Sharon Hyndman – Coolock Cottages

From 1803-1822 Catherine McAuley cared for Mr. and Mrs. Callaghan who lived at Coolock House in Dublin.  The house was built around 1798 and in 1809  William Callaghan bought the house.

The name was adapted in Dunedin when the Sisters of Mercy New Zealand opened the Coolock Cottages in McBride Street, South Dunedin in 1992.

This year Sharon Hyndman joined the Coolock Board in a ceremony on the 29th of August. Sharon brings a wealth of expertise as a Residential Sales Consultant at Metro Realty. Her links with Dunedin start from birth where she was educated by the Presentation and Mercy Sisters at St Peter Channel and then Moreau College. From 1979 – 1982 Sharon gained her General and Obstetrics Nurse Registration at Dunedin Hospital. In 2007 she had her Real Estate Agents Authority License. Sharon was the  Sales Person of the year (third runner up) 2015 – 2016 and Sales Person of the year (third runner up) 2014 – 2015. Her extensive engagement with the community includes being an Otago Medical Research Foundation Member, Otago Community Hospice – a member of the fundraising committee and coordinator of the annual Hospice High Tea and a Sacred Heart Primary School Board Member.
