“The Gratitude Café is an annual Te Waipuna Puawai event held in Mercy month that gives deep felt thanks to our community, as we celebrate together the long standing networks and connections we share to support our families. Gratitude taps the limitlessness in all of us. At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by the spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have reignited the flame within us”
Bill Takerei, Manukura, Te Waipuna Puawai
The staff of Te Waipuna Puawai expressed their gratitude to all who have worked along with them to facilitate opportunities for Tamaki women to thrive. On Friday the 22nd of September 2017, the doors of Te Waipuna Puawai were warmly opened as stake holders, friends, Sisters of Mercy, workers and community members celebrated.
You can listen to Te Waipuna Puawai staff sing the waiata they performed at the Gratitude Cafe below.
