On Friday 19 June, New Zealand Architecture Awards (Southern Region) awarded Manaaki by Mercy the winner of its ‘Commercial’ category. It was also the recipient of the Resene Colour Award. This formal recognition for McCoy and Wixon (Architects) and Mercy Hospital is very gratifying, and rewarding for all involved in its design and development.
With the above award secured, Mercy’s attention turned to the ‘Property Council NZ Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards for 2017′, with the formal awards ceremony being held on Friday 16 June in Auckland. Manaaki by Mercy had strong competition within its ‘Health and Medical’ category, including but not limited to: ADHB LabPlus, Cambridge Vets, St John Christchurch Ambulance, and Burwood Hospital Christchurch.
In recognition of the ‘complex and leading edge’ design and construction of Manaaki by Mercy – it was felt both appropriate and opportunistic to enter Mercy’s newest addition in these national awards – Health and Medical Property section (11 categories in total)
These awards, while national, have an international reputation for excellence. Judging criteria inclusive of but not limited to:
• Economic and financial
• Project vision and innovation

• Sustainability and efficiency of operation
